Ball lock pins are used for the simple connection or fixation of two parts or workpieces. The balls at the lower end of the ball lock pin are unlocked by pressing the button at the top end. The pin can now be inserted through the appropriate hole. When the push-button is released, the balls emerge from their openings again and create a lock through tension.
Other types of ball lock pins enable a wide range of applications. The length of standard models are limited by the integrated mechanism. On ball lock pins with head lock, the locking mechanism is located directly below the head. This enables models with longer pins to be realised. In addition to models with a head lock, there are also ball lock pins with adjustment nuts. The adjustment nut enables the clamping length to be adjusted exactly to the required length.
Various grip shapes and materials can be selected depending on the area of application. Very small handles are available for tight spaces or large handle contours for use with gloves. Plastic and die-cast zinc are the available materials. While plastic handles are characterised by their low weight, die-cast zinc models stand out due to their higher temperature stability.
Ball lock pins from KIPP are available in two different versions. In addition to the standard version with pins made of stainless steel 1.4305, the same model is also available with pins made of stainless steel 1.4542. These are characterised by their stability and are suitable for applications where a particularly high shear strength is required.
