Knurled nuts / knurled screws / knurled knobs
Nuts, screws and knurled knobs are particularly suitable for manual positioning and clamping. They enable smooth, tool-free assembly. The various designs, thread sizes and materials can be used in a whole host of applications in machine and plant construction as well as toolmaking.
Knurled screws and knurled nuts by KIPP
Functional knurled screws for versatile applications
KIPP offers a large range of different knurled screws. They allow for tool-free assembly and easy adjustment. This saves time and facilitates tasks where fixated objects have to be repositioned frequently. Fine grooves are knurled into the outside diameter of the screw head. These help the user to get a good grip - even with wet or dirty hands - when adjusting the knurled screw. KIPP knurled screws are available in different materials, so you will find the suitable model for every application in our extensive range.
Knurled screws in different styles
Knurled screws by KIPP are available in several options, depending on subsequent use. They are available in low or high styles and all feature metric thread. The low version features a flat head and a thread that runs right up to the screw head. The high style features a connecting piece between head and thread. As a result the head does not rest on the workpiece directly. Our range includes knurled screws made of standard plastic, antistatic plastic, heat-resistant plastic as well as steel and stainless steel.
Different materials - the right choice for any application
Thanks to the wide range of different materials, knurled screws by KIPP are suitable for almost every area of application:
Knurled screws made of plastic
KIPP offers knurled screws made of a variety of plastics. In addition to types made of typical plastics, there are options made of thermosetting plastic, with highly polished
which are easy to clean. Knurled screws made of antistatic plastic are also available which can be used on sensitive electrical and electronic components that may be damaged or destroyed by electrostatic discharge.
Knurled screws made of steel
Knurled screws made of steel provide a high load rating. They are therefore suitable for applications with high mechanical forces. Due to the material properties of steel, we recommend the use of these knurled screws indoors. Depending on the model, knurled screws made of steel are available untreated or with black oxide finish.
Knurled screws made of stainless steel
Knurled screws made of stainless steel have a high load rating, similar to the steel quality. Thanks to the excellent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, knurled screws can be easily be used outdoors.
Sizes and standards
KIPP manufactures knurled screws according to DIN 464 and DIN 653. By applying DIN standards, all knurled screws in our range have a metric thread. This means they can easily be integrated into existing systems, e.g. to replace defective screws. KIPP offers knurled screws sized M3 to M10.
Useful knurled nuts by KIPP
Depending on the initial situation, screws or grub screws may already be present. In that case using knurled screws is not possible. However, in order not to have to forego the advantages of tool-free and simple assembly knurled nuts by KIPP can be used. They can also be recognised by the pressed in grooves in the circumference.
Knurled nuts in various styles
Just as knurled screws, KIPP offers knurled nuts in various styles. A distinction can be made between high and low as well as quick-acting knurled nuts. Low models lie flat on the workpiece, while high models feature a connecting piece. Quick-acting knurled nuts can be recognised by the fact that the nut can be slipped over the thread by tilting it. This enables quick repositioning without tedious screwing even on long threaded rods. The threads of the nut and the rod interlock when the knurled nut is straightened up. Now they can only be positioned by turning.
Different materials for varying applications
To enable use of knurled nuts to cover a wide range of applications they are made from different materials. KIPP provides a wide range - choose the article suitable for your application.
Knurled nuts made of plastic
The KIPP range includes knurled nuts made of plastic. Available are several types of plastic to choose from. This leads to different characteristics of individual options. Models made of polyamide-reinforced thermoplastic feature the well-known advantages and disadvantages of products made of plastic. Thermoset options are characterised by their heat resistance and high stability. The highly polished surface is also resistant to petrol, alcohols and greases. Knurled nuts made of antistatic plastic can even be used on electronic or electrical components that could be damaged by electrostatic discharge.
Knurled nuts made of steel
Knurled nuts made of steel are suitable for applications where high mechanical forces may occur. Due to the typical properties of the material, steel tends to rust under certain conditions. We therefore recommend indoor use. At KIPP you will find knurled nuts made from black oxidised steel.
Knurled nuts made of stainless steel
Similar to the steel quality, knurled nuts made of stainless steel are highly stable. Additionally, they are corrosion resistant, which makes them suitable for outdoor applications.
Available sizes and standards of knurled nuts by KIPP
Knurled nuts manufactured by KIPP comply with DIN 6303, DIN 467 or DIN 466 and are universally usable. It is therefore possible to extend existing equipment in your machine park by using KIPP knurled nuts or easily replace defective parts. Depending on model and option you can choose between thread sizes from M4 to M12.
